CAROL HAYZLETT
Executive Assistant

We asked our staff to give us a peek into the 'behind the scenes' world of what makes them tick.  We hope that by letting you kind of 'hang out' in the offices here, and letting you know us a bit more that you will get a glimpse of the joy in our jobs, and most importantly, the joy we find in Christ.

1.) What was your FIRST connection with LifeLight Communications?
My first connection was actually unplanned. It was 2004 and I was living in Los Angeles, CA when I realized that Labor Day Weekend was fast approaching and I had no real plans. So I quickly snatched up a frequent flyer ticket and flew to Sioux Falls to visit my brother and his family. We spent the entire weekend at the LifeLight Festival and at the end of my visit, when it was time to say goodbye my two-year old nephew said one word that changed my life in a dramatic way. When I told my nephew I was going back to California, he said, "Don't."

Three months later I moved to Sioux Falls.

2.) What do you actually DO all day?
Think "Devil Wears Prada". No, not quite...I am treated extremely well unlike the poor personal assistant in that movie! I count my blessings when I watch that movie.

I am obsessed with the calendar, literally. My job depends on it. So at any given time that you see me, I may be staring at the calendar on my email account or blackberry. I am the Executive Assistant to the Founders of LifeLight, Alan & Vicki Greene and thus do a lot of scheduling of appointments and correspondence on their behalf. I am also extremely active in marketing. I work heavily with social media and viral marketing. I attend plenty of meetings and have mastered my note-taking skills. I am extremely well organized and discipline is a great strength of mine, aiding in successfully hitting many important deadlines. Above all else, what I DO all day is make sure Alan & Vicki are happy. Whether it is asking about their grandchildren or making coffee, whatever I can DO to serve them each day is what I am called to DO.

3.) Who are you going to be when God is finished with you?

My heart's desire is that I will enter Heaven having been an extremely humble servant who gave all I had; financially, physically, mentally, and spiritually to serving others according to James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world" and Romans 12:10 "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves."

4.) Any other fun tidbits to share?
My husband, Ben and I are currently expecting our first baby. Our daughter is due November 14th, 2010.
