Kory and the Fireflies to appear at LifeLight Music Festival
Local act with national presence welcomed to the stage of one of the largest outdoor music festivals
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (August 11, 2008) – Kory and the Fireflies will play the main stage at 6:30 p.m. on the opening night of the LifeLight Festival. The local act has built a national presence by touring with Goo Goo Dolls, Sugar Ray and Smash Mouth and supporting more than forty more national acts including Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock and many others.
LifeLight co-founder Alan Greene said that Kory will be welcomed as a follower of Christ. “While the Christian music scene is not the normal venue for Kory, he is a fellow believer,” said Greene. “The Bible says, ‘I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God.’ (Luke 12:8). We welcome Kory and the Fireflies to the festival to share in the experience of what God is doing in their lives.”
Kory and the Fireflies create what's been described as “pop rock with punch.” The band has achieved Airplay and Videoplay in all 50 states with their nationally released singles, “Sometimes,” “Pop Fly” and “Everyone” and they recently appeared on VH1 with multiple airings of their performance during the “VH1 Summer’s End Concert” filmed in Las Vegas playing with The Donnas and the Goo Goo Dolls.
Kory and the Fireflies join other leading artists performing on the five LifeLight Festival stages including Switchfoot, Michael W. Smith, Casting Crowns, As I Lay Dying, Family Force 5, MxPx, Natalie Grant, Remedy Drive, Leeland, Sanctus Real, Lincoln Brewster, The Afters, Building 429, Matthew West, Showbread, Grits, John Reuben, Seventh Day Slumber, Day of Fire and many more.
