What a great and glorious God we serve!
We sensed His presence and experienced His hand at work all over the grounds this year. We know we are called to be obedient to the Lord’s call and leave the results to Him, and yet, this year we were privileged to be part of the harvest, and what a harvest it was, God was at work all around the festival. This is just a glimpse of where we saw His spirit at work.
On Saturday night as tens of thousands of people worshiped with Michael W Smith you could sense the Holy Spirit moving in the crowd. Michael spoke of the incredible grace of God and thousands made a commitment to Christ. At the same time that this was happening on the Main Stage, the band Seventh Day Slumber was ministering through music on the Souled Out stage. When Joseph, from the band, shared his testimony and gave an invitation to Christ, something happened that could only be a move of the Holy Spirit. Hundreds and hundreds of young people ran to the front of the stage and dropped to their knees to surrender to Jesus!! Many were weeping in repentance and brokenness moved beyond words.Yes, God was moving at LifeLight.
Here’s one comment from the prayer cards:“By attending the Seventh Day Slumber portion of the festival and surrendering publicly in front of my Bible study family, a huge weight has been lifted and my life has changed and started over!! I went back and shared praise with the whole group! Their song ‘Every Saturday’ touched me personally having lost someone close to suicide and they couldn’t have described the thoughts, feelings and emotions one goes through in that time any better!! What an amazing experience and thrill that blows me away. It’s so awesome and amazing how the Lord works and how many lives were saved here this weekend!!”
You can read a more detailed and full report in the festival recap press release here.At LifeLight 2008 over 100,000 people gathered each day to hear the gospel and lift up the name of Jesus, but it doesn’t end at the festival. The work of ministry continues as we reach out to middle and high school students and follow up on the response at the festival. It continues with Concerts & Tours, Souled Out Clubs, Missions, and Radio.
Our vision is to reach 1 million people with the gospel. Will you help us? We are now launching ongoing ministry and beginning plans for next year and beyond.
Jesus said in Acts 1:8 “…and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."Will you co-labor with us and be a team member in reaching your city and our world with the good news of Jesus? We are praying for 500 team members to help us move forward. Any donation will be used to further the work of building God’s kingdom.
We at LifeLight have a passion to see people rescued from darkness and brought into His marvelous light. We continue “Taking the church outside the walls and bringing light into darkness, with the life changing message of the gospel of Jesus Christ”. As we boldly proclaim the gospel we see lives transformed by the grace of Jesus.Blessings to you all as you continue to seek our Lord.
