Our Missionaries in Mexico

Pic of Jorge and LuzJorge and Luz are loving parents to three daughters and one niece; Kate, Lisa, Jireh, and Monica. Jorge enjoys leading worship and praising the Lord. They continue to grow in the Lord and each outreach they join us and minister to the team through music, translation and just friendship. This is the story of how we met Jorge and Luz on our first LifeLight mission trip to Mexico .

About three weeks before our trip, we had heard about a whole Colonia of pallet homes that were burned out by the authorities.  It was tragic, two babies were killed and people were literally driven from their homes and displaced. Where do thousands of people who have no place to live go?   We prayed about how we could be a blessing to those people, but we had no clue how to find them or what we could do about it. We then met an interpreter who thought she might know what area we could find some of these people - we drove around for a long time not being sure where to stop – but praying - we pulled up the bus into a colonia. We will never forget how the Mexican people gathered around the bus in an organized circle as if they were expecting us. We found out through the interpreters that they were indeed some of the people who had lost everything in the fire and were in great need.  Alan walked into the circle and said we had prayed to find them and we wanted to “visit with them in Jesus name.” Jorge walked into the circle and said, “Three weeks ago we dropped to our knees in this very spot and prayed for the Lord to send someone. We knew God would provide, and you are the only ones who have come. God has sent you.”

It was an incredible day of ministry. Many received food, prayers and the Lord added to His kingdom that day as many received Christ.  Praise God!
