HAITI

Petite Riviere, Haiti

High up in the mountains of Haiti about a 5 hour drive into a very rural area is located near the ocean is a small village called Petite Riviere.  In this little village we partner with the ministry Mission Haiti where they run an orphanage where we will stay helping children get the love and education they need as well as sharing the Gospel to those who have never heard. 

The culture of the people in Haiti is unlike any other culture.  Where most third world countries are proud of what they have, though it may be much, Haitians only worry about getting to America while they are unappreciative of their own country.  Looking past all the trash that you will find in Haiti, you will see God’s beautiful creation on the island.  What was once known as the Pearl of the Caribbean is now the poorest country in the western hemisphere and the second poorest in the world.  Poverty is only the start to the problems that the Island has encountered.  Adding to their problems is a growing rate of promiscuity among the entire nation and gangs rioting everywhere in protest against the rising food & gas prices.  Haiti is a country in desperate need of hope and someone to show them love and this is where we feel the call to go and bring hope to the hopeless.  Upon obeying the call to go to Haiti, you will assist in supplying food for multiple schools, bringing hope to orphans, taking care of the needs of the people spiritual and physical, and evangelism. All of this is done for the Glory of God!
