RYAN FELTMAN
Souled Out Club Coordinator

We asked our staff to give us a peek into the 'behind the scenes' world of what makes them tick.  We hope that by letting you kind of 'hang out' in the offices here, and letting you know us a bit more that you will get a glimpse of the joy in our jobs, and most importantly, the joy we find in Christ.

1.) What was your FIRST connection with LifeLight Communications?

It was 2002, the Lifelight Festival was still meeting at the fairgrounds, and as I was planning on making my trip up to Sioux Falls to attend, life happened and just a couple of weeks before the festival I found myself going through a series of events that would forever change my life.  My father awoke in the middle of the night to a massive heartattack that would ultimately take his life.  Through the following days of planning for the funeral with my family, my attending the festival got thrown to the side until a friend of mine contacted me about still making the trip from Chicago to attend with me.  As the weekend approached, I still wasn't quite sure if I was ready to be surrounded by so many people, mostly in the shaken faith state that I was in.  God met me there in a way that I wasn't ready for.  I had served as a youth pastor for a few years previous to this, so it's not like I wasn't in a relationship with God already, but something happened there where God met me in that crowd and brought me a comfort that I had never felt before.  God met me in that place.

2.) What do you actually DO all day?

As Souled Out Club Coordinator, my job means that I am meeting with students, youth pastors, and other campus coaches to help maintain existing clubs, and help launch new clubs into the middle school and high school campuses.  It's quite rare that you would find me in the LifeLight Ministry Center, but if you frequent places like Caribou Coffee, or Scooters, look for me either in a conversation with a student or coach, or tucked behind my laptop shooting off emails and keeping in touch with people via Facebook.

3.) What have you been reading lately?
I am currently in the midst of The Shack by Young, and thus far am quite impressed by the way that is shaking some of my beliefs, and how it is truly speaking to my heart.  I have a hard time picking up a book to read for pleasure when I have so much to read for classes that I take, but this book has be a great break for me, and has enlightened me in many ways.

4.) Who are you going to be when God is finished with you?
I pray that when God is finished with me that people would be able to say that I served Him well.  I pray that people would be able to say that I loved others more than I loved myself.  I hope that they would say that my family and friends were very important to me, and that although I was far from perfect I loved God and embraced His grace as well as any other.  All the other details of my life are simply that, details.
