FALL TOUR 2006
Fall LifeLight Tour a Success
In keeping with our "Taking the Church Outside the Walls," mission involving local churches and proclaiming the gospel, the LifeLight tour was a tremendous success.
Everyone on the road fits into the team and is a part of ministry. It really is the body at work being the evangelistic witnessing part of the church. It is the concept we see in the early church, and it works. If Jesus is lited up and the simple gospel proclaimed, people are drawn to Him. It's that simple.
The model in the early church was to go out as teams and proclaim the gospel city to city. As they were faithful, God provided a harvest of souls. Many times we look for new models and ideas when it's just the simple gospel that needs to be faithfully proclaimed. We give God all the glory. Thank you for your prayers.
Acts 1:8 - "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you willbe my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere - in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (NLT)
Tilden City Auditorium, Tilden, Nebraska – Monday, Nov. 6
The concert in Tilden, Nebraska, a small town under 900 people, was nothing short of miraculous. The team was great. As the gospel invitation was shared, we asked people to come forward to make a real public commitment to the Lord. Over 100 people rose to their feet and came to the stage. Half of the crowd of 400 or so raised their hands to pray to receive Christ. A lot of youth but also families. We were particularly moved by an 88-year-old lady who sat through the concert and prayed to receive Christ. God is good, and we are so priviledged to share the Good News each night, and stand at the door of heaven and invite them to meet Jesus.
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
Faith Assembly of God, Casper, Wyoming – Thursday, Nov. 9
The kids got to me tonight as they filled out cards for salvation. Here are a few comments. A 13-year-old boy who prayed to receive Christ writes, “I am interested in getting a Bible.” Another 16-year-old girl prayed to receive Jesus and writes “pray for Melissa, she has a failing liver.” Each night the Word is proclaimed through song and preached from the stage, and we experience a harvest. I believe this is how Paul felt as he entered a town, an anticipation of how Jesus was going to saturate the place with His spirit and bring people into the kingdom.
Alliance High School Gym, Alliance, Nebraska – Friday, Nov. 10
This community is a perfect story of how God is transforming people and towns through the work at LifeLight. Michelle, the local promoter, has a heart for bringing the churches together and reaching out to the youth. She and her family came to the LifeLight festival, and went back and went to work on their small town. Michelle is a persistent young lady with two children and one on the way. She and her husband balance their time so they can be with the kids. They have a Christian rock radio station coming now as a result of what God is doing here. Tonight, a pastor from a small church came up to me and said: “I brought four youth tonight, and they gave their lives to Christ! Thank you so much for this.”
Dakota Christian School, Platte, South Dakota – Saturday, Nov. 11
This was like homecoming for us as Platte, South Dakota, is LifeLight festival territory. The concert was at Dakota Christian High School, and as usual at these events a cross section of ages showed up. The hospitality from these guys was outstanding, and everyone in town knew about the concert. Again, as the team each shared and Crystal shared her story and Alan gave the gospel message and an invitation to receive Christ, over 150 responded.
McKnight Hall, White, South Dakota – Sunday, Nov. 12
White, South Dakota, was our last stop. It seems we had just begun really clicking as a team. White is a small town of only around 500 people. As people filed into the facility, you could feel the excitement and anticipation. Many parents who had a heart for the youth and many regional towns showed up. The great commission is a team effort, and the tour is an example of the partnership between churches, lay people and community leaders. The message of the gospel never changes, but God continues to give us methods to reach a lost world for Him. Many again came to the Lord in White. We pray that they and the people who have a heart reach out and plug in to the churches, and we begin to see transformation one heart at a time.
