TOUR RECAP:
When we originally began talking about doing this Tour, I'm not sure any of us really knew what to expect. We just knew what we hoped for. We hoped that we could reach hundreds of people in 3 short days with the message of walking with Christ and a life of purity are ultimately one in the same. We often referred to Psalm 119:9 as it says, "How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word." You can't say you are a Christian and then turn it off on the weekends when you are with your boyfriend or girlfriend.
Our world is flooded with the teachings of love & sex. The problem is the world doesn't teach it from a biblical perspective. The world says the more sex & the more partners.........the better. Apparently you can even "make love", which is an extremely odd phrase. The Bible talks about purity and saving yourself for your future spouse. That is exactly what Rachelle Hope did. Her husband and our featured speaker told a very different story. He comes from a background of stealing cars, a lot of partying, and a lot of girls. He explained the hurt he brought to his future wife as he dumped a bucket of mud representing his sin onto a bed of clean white sheets that represented what Rachelle brought to the marriage. Each evening we then went into break-out sessions in which the boys went to one room while the girls stayed in another. The purpose of these break-out sessions was to explain to each group some issues they may face more specific & relevant to them. In these sessions, Bryan from VOTA shared his story of rebellion to the boys while Rachelle Hope shared her story of purity to the girls.
The three dates ended with nearly 300 students making a commitment to purity and many of them committing or re-committing their lives to Christ. We were thrilled with the results of this Tour and extremely excited to see these young people make a stand for their faith and their purity in a world that tells them to do otherwise. Each student was given a silicone bracelet with "Psalm 119:9" & "Love.Sex." imprinted on them to always remind them of the commitment they made that night. We are so thankful for all who took part in these wonderful events and for those who helped make them possible. Please join us in praying for all these young people as they daily walk out their commitments.
THE LOVE.SEX. TOUR - SPRING 2011
Apr 6, 2011 to Apr 8, 2011
VOTA - Much has happened since VOTA's INO Records debut album release. Some of the highlights include a top 10 radio single, 4 consecutive national tours with bands Sanctus Real, Tenth Avenue North, Newsboys, Barlow Girl and Superchick, a trip to Europe, the startup of a touring/production company, and the launch of a non-profit called The 180 Tour that has performed over 300 character based assembly programs in public high schools in over 30 states. And VOTA is just getting started. As momentum builds, VOTA continues to define its bold and mysterious name on a path all its own, and those who come in contact can't help but follow.
Rachelle Hope -Rachelle Hope shares her faith through word and song and recently released her first EP album including "He Cries". She serves Christ alongside her husband as God guides them in ministry together. They both have a passion for reaching the lost and ministering to young people by challenging them to be servants for Christ and to walk out their faith.
Rachelle has also spoken at several youth outreaches, women’s conferences, etc. on purity and has a desire to encourage young girls to walk out their faith.
Josh Brewer - After being abandoned by his mother, and having an alcoholic father, Josh left home. He started down a path of drugs, sex, alcohol and hanging with the wrong crowds seeking love. At fifteen he was facing 30 counts of grand theft auto and sentenced to jail. His days being limited to attending school, a job or church, Josh chose to go to church primarily to get out of the house. The rest of the story is his testimony; Josh is an example of a life transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.
Josh has spoken at youth events, churches, conferences, juvenile detention centers and retreats sharing his testimony. He encourages youth to live a life of purity and walk out their faith.
