Phil Joel - After twelve years of touring the world as part of the Newsboys, Phil Joel stepped down from his role as bass player and support vocalist to focus on the ministry that had started in 2005, deliberatePeople.
Both Phil and his wife Heather had a passion for the Lord, but they also knew there was more. With the encouragement of their pastor, who had challenged the church body to commit to reading the Bible following a one-year plan, Phil and Heather began their deliberate pursuit to meet with the Lord in the mornings, to spend time in the Word and to redefine their devotion time. The ministry began as a fruit of this challenge. The challenge to increase in intimacy with Him. Both, Phil and Heather realized how having a deliberate encounter with God everyday was the key to greater intimacy with Him and how this lifestyle would revolutionize people’s lives if they were encouraged like they were.
In 2007 Phil left the Newsboys to fully commit to deliberatePeople. Out of this new level of intimacy new music began to be created and thus the deliberatePeople.album was released in May of 2007. The latest project, “The New Normal” is a continuation of the journey of being deliberate and the fruit thereof. The songs on this new album look at the norms that the world has set for believers and nonbelievers alike in this age of advancing technology and the consequences of it
“Smooth, artistic, unique, well crafted” are just a few of the labels that the industry and fans have used to qualify Pete’s sound. His soft, moody and sometimes brooding vocals allow him to stand alone, as one of the top newcomers. His first CD, simply titled, “Pete Good” sends a message to the world, that he has a lot to say about life, love and the intricacies that are intertwined within them. At age twenty four, Pete touches on topics of the heart and soul, from an uncanny observation, rather than a lifetime of experience. His ability to capture feelings from others and the world around him, and turn them into songs is yet another trait that elevates Pete from the crowd.
Angel Dean once said “I think the greatest introduction I ever received was at a conference when my friend and spiritual mentor introduced me as a ‘recovering moron.’ I quickly grew to appreciate the truthful significance of that introduction and I have made it a standing introduction from then on. I was born Lance E. Nielsen in September of 1972. Angel Dean is actually a nickname I was given when I was going to college in Denver. They called me ‘Angel’ because I didn’t hide the fact that I was a Christian, and the ‘Dean’ tag came from my friend who also knew I had the heart of a rebel, like the movie star “James Dean.”
