SPRING TOUR RECAP
There doesn’t seem to be many words that can adequately describe the Spring Tour with Brian Head Welch (formerly of KoRn), The Classic Crime, & Children 18:3 that we recently finished. I think it was best described by our friend, Blake from OneHope. We partner with OneHope on each of our Tours as they provide us with the Book of Hope resources that are handed out to all who attend. The Book of Hope for this particular Tour was customized to have Brian’s story, along with so much great content from the Bible on beginning a relationship with Christ. Here is an email Blake sent to Alan & Vicki after the tour.
This year’s Spring Tour was, to say the least, an amazingly successful time of ministry. One of the reasons why we love to partner with LifeLight is your ability to sidestep the traditional (and safe) Christian methodology of entertainment, and put a somewhat controversial, fringe artist like Brian Head Welch in front of rural American audiences. At least 75% or more of the attending audience would never have set foot inside a church, let alone have listened to a Gospel presentation. But they did.
LifeLight brought a new kind of church and a new style of worship to these towns. The deep systemic issues that were exposed among teens, either through the Prayer Request cards or through the video interviews we did, was a heartsick revelation. I would sincerely doubt that a mainstream CCM artist could’ve surfaced that depth of brokenness. Brian’s story and message was raw and real, startling and sincere. His presentation was only bolstered higher by Rob’s mixing of the right bands, and Dave’s ability to bring the entire tour to a level of Spiritual openness and clarity of mission. There is a powerful formula here. We shot nearly 5 hours of video footage, both with the bands and teens in the audience. We heard some amazing stories...meth addiction, sexual abuse, incarceration, depression, isolation, and desperate redemption.
I definitely want to thank you for your vision, and for your trust in the abilities of Rob and Dave to make a profound difference on a generation that needs to hear the Gospel message on its own terms, and in a delivery style that only they can understand.
Look forward to moving forward.

OneHope
All in all, over 1,700 people made commitments to Jesus Christ throughout the 11 city Tour! Over 500 of those people making commitments completed a response card and turned it back into us. The local youth networks in each city are now following up with each of those people! We at LifeLight are so thankful for organizations like OneHope, Pizza Ranch, Vantage Point, & Vander Haag’s that make these Tours a reality. Also, a huge thank you to all the business and individuals locally in each city for all their hard work that make each night go so well! We are always told by the bands that our Tours are so different than others they go on, and it’s because of all of these people that make that happen!

BRIAN HEAD WELCH (formerly of KoRn)
Brian Welch, better known by his nickname "Head," is one of the founding members of the multi-platinum, Grammy award winning metal band, KoRn. The band was credited with being the major influence in the rise of the New metal movement. While with KoRn, Head won two Grammy's and sold over 30 million albums to date. In July 2007, Head gained further acclaim as a successful author, when he released an autobiography (Harper Collins Publishers) titled, "Save Me From Myself." Immediately upon its release, the book quickly soared up the New York Times Best Seller's list. Head's debut album released September 9, 2008 and is also titled, "Save Me From Myself." Head's Debut Album is a testimony to his life as he battled with drug addiction, leaving KoRn, and finding spirituality. The Debut Album features renown musicians such as Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, Allice Cooper, David Bowie), Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Evanescence, Nine Inch Nails) and was mixed by Bob Clearmountain and Ralph Patlan. "Save Me From Myself" is heavy, compelling and inspirational. It's a Rock 'n Roll journey unlike any other!
THE CLASSIC CRIME
After scanning over 40,000 copies of their debut album and honing their live show to machine-like precision, The Classic Crime are poised to make another run across the nation and beyond. They have recently joined forces with everyone from Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Mest, MxPx, Emery, and Anberlin. They were featured on Warped Tour 2006 & 2008 as well. While some struggle to capture the magic of their recordings live, suffice it to say that this band is only at their most potent and accurate in the show atmosphere. This is a legitimate unit that will prove their mettle in the chapter that is to come.
Yet with all their dedication to music for music's sake, The Classic Crime is surprisingly dedicated to a greater, practical purpose as the end-all-be-all of their band's existence. It is with these higher goals in mind that they push onward into this next era.
CHILDREN 18:3
The place: a farmhouse outside a tiny
town of little consequence in rural Minnesota. The players: three
siblings--two males, one female--with the given name of Hostetter, each
possessing complimentary skill of extraordinary potential. The motive:
to combat the stale, ordinary, and predictable nature of popular rock
music wrought of the unimaginative. The result: an undeniable sound
backed by an undeniably unique persona.
Three kids born and raised on a farm in Minnesota? Playing rock music? Writing amazing songs with thought-provoking ferocity? Destroying stages?
Are you kidding?
No.
On the right side of the stage you see David, the eldest, lead vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist. Long black locks swirl around piercing eyes that bleed black mascara. Sleeveless, torn, jean-jacketed, a vision of a classic era, spirit of ʻ77. On the left side of the stage sister Lee Marie swings her bass high above her platinum blonde maelstrom, supported by white high-heels. She screams with lipstick-laden vocal yelps and finger-points to the sky. And behind, brother Seth twirls his sticks and bashes in rhythm to complete the whirlwind that is...Children 18:3.
